Dr. Camilo Gomez, a vascular and interventional neurologist, treats patients who suffer from complex brain injuries and blood flow conditions such as stroke and rare brain diseases. He sees patients who need immediate emergency medical attention as well as those who require medical management for chronic neurologic diseases. Dr. Gomez performs common neurological procedures such as angioplasty and cerebral artery bypass surgery. He also treats aneurysms related to cerebrovascular diseases.

Dr. Gomez has been a physician for more than four decades and has published hundreds of research articles, founded multiple stroke centers at various institutions, including Saint Louis University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is credited with coining the phrase “Time is Brain!” to highlight how fast treatment is crucial to reduce brain damage in stroke patients.
