Karen Orjuela
Dr. Karen Orjuela is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Colorado, specializing in vascular neurology. She obtained her MD from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and completed her graduate studies at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Orjuela has extensive training, including a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at Loyola University Medical Center.
Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Dr. Orjuela is dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion as the Co-Director of these initiatives within her department. Her research interests include cryptogenic stroke, PFO-related strokes, and inherited cerebrovascular diseases. She has received several teaching awards for her excellence in resident and student education.
Dr. Orjuela’s contributions to the field are highlighted by her publications in reputable journals and her recognition as a Top Doctor in Vascular Neurology by 5280 Magazine.
