
Salvador Cruz – Flores
Dr. Cruz is a Professor and Founding Chair of the Department of Neurology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso. He specializes in neurology, stroke neurology, and neurocritical care, focusing on compassionate care for stroke and critically ill neurological patients through a team approach.
He earned his MD from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in Monterrey, Mexico. His residency training includes Internal Medicine and Neurology at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, and further specialization at Saint Louis University Health Sciences Center. He completed fellowships in Cerebrovascular Diseases and Neurologic Intensive Care.
Dr. Cruz is board-certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology, with additional certifications in Neurocritical Care and Neuroimaging. He is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Neurology and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. Notable honors include the Sidney W. Souers Endowed Chair and the Hugh McCullock Award from the American Heart Association.
